Summer Games for kids at Merced College

July 22, 2013

— Making sure children stay on target through the long, hot summer vacation isn't easy. There are lots of distractions and plenty of ways for them to get into mischief.

But the College for Kids program offered by Merced College Community Services provides education, enrichment and adventure experiences designed to keep kids entertained and learning all summer.

The classes include aquatics for kids of all ages, hands-on science classes, art, photography, music, science, math, knitting and more. There are camps for soccer, baseball, basketball, volleyball, football, golf — even archery.

The first session at Merced College ran from June 17-27. The second session is from July 8 to Thursday. The last session is from July 22 to Aug. 1. Most classes range in price from $60 to $65 each.

The classes were designed for students going into the fourth through eighth grades.
