Bible school in Atwater

ATWATER — Atwater Baptist Church will host its vacation Bible school from 5:30 to 8 p.m., today through Friday, at the church, 2124 First St. All children starting kindergarten through sixth grade are invited. Professional training

Merced College is partnering with the Greater Merced Chamber of Commerce to offer professional development training through the college's award-winning Customer Service Academy on Aug. 22 and Aug. 29, with morning and afternoon sessions at 630 W. 19th St. The cost is $23 per workshop and participants earn half a unit of college credit. Dunks benefit animals

COULTERVILLE — The Northside Pet Connection will host the Dunk Tank at this year's CoyoteFest on Sept. 28 at the Coulterville Park on the corner of Highways 49 and 132. Tony Howie and the Copper Holdings Company Bank will provide entertainment, and proceeds will benefit the spay-neuter program.

35-year class reunion

Menudo on Sundays

Club Mercedes will serve menudo the last Sunday of each month until the NFL season starts. It will be served from 8 a.m. to noon or until the menudo runs out. Cost is $8 for a large bowl and includes tortillas, coffee and a Mexican pastry. Queadias and many other beverages are available for an extra fee. Dine in and takeout are available. VFW Club Hall rentals

ATWATER — The Atwater VFW Club Hall is available for rent to the public for parties. It holds 150 people and has a full-service kitchen. The VFW also holds a hamburger night fund-raiser every Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Call (209)358-7224.
