Vacancy on Livingston Planning Commission

LIVINGSTON — The city of Livingston is accepting applications to fill one alternate commissioner vacancy on the Livingston Planning Commission. The term is four years or until successors are appointed. Commissioners meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. The deadline to turn in an application is 5 p.m. on Aug. 9. Hinds Hospice looking for volunteers to help

Hinds Hospice is looking for volunteers to be companions to terminally ill patients and give their caregivers a break. To volunteer you must be at least 18 years old and take a 24-hour training course. Annual catfish dinner at La Grange lodge

LA GRANGE — The Lafayette Historical Lodge No. 65 will have its sixth annual catfish dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 3 at the International Order of Oddfellows Hall on Main Street. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children 12 and younger. The price includes deep-fried catfish fillets, cornbread, coleslaw, corn on the cob, a beverage and ice cream.
