Lafayette lodge to hold annual catfish dinner

LA GRANGE — Lafayette Historical Lodge No. 65 will hold its sixth annual catfish dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 3 at the IOOF Hall on Main Street in La Grange. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. The price includes deep-fried catfish fillets, cornbread, cole slaw, corn on the cob, a beverage and ice cream for dessert. Merced SPCA planning an enchilada dinner

The Merced Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will hold a take-out enchilada dinner from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 10 at Los Panchos Restaurant, 2971 G St. Tickets are $10 and include chicken or cheese enchiladas, rice, beans, drink and dessert. Proceeds will benefit the animals at the SPCA's adoption center. Vietnam veterans group invites new members

Merced County's branch of the National Alliance on Mental Illness holds bi-weekly support groups for families affected by serious mental illness. For more information, call (209) 381-6844 and a volunteer will contact you within 48 hours.
