Sandy Webb: Kindness in our city

July 29, 2013

My faith in citizens of Merced was renewed once again by two caring individuals. While walking downtown after seeing a movie with my daughter, my foot fell sideways on the three unmarked steps in front of Chandaliers and I proceeded to fall down all three. It was a bad enough fall that I couldn't walk and was bleeding a bit. The employee at Cold Stone came running down to see if I was OK and she brought a free cup of ice cream for me. The bouncer at Chandaliers got a paper towel and held it on my leg to stop the bleeding. Once the bleeding slowed he went and got a bag of ice and held it on my ankle. He offered to retrieve my car so I didn't have to try and walk. I truly want to thank them both for the caring they showed me during a most embarrassing fall. It's people like you who remind me of the good caring hearts we have in Merced. Thank you again for your helping hands.
