I support the United Domestic Workers in their struggle to get more of a living wage. Supporters, come today to the Board of Supervisors meeting.
To the board: It's been a rough six years and you've tried to stretch the dollars you were given. There were times when you did OK but depending on whom you talked to will determines what answer you'll get. There's a group of people who do one hell of a job taking care of the young and the not-so-young who need assistance to get through their day.
Help ease the struggle for the caregivers who make life a little easier for our loved ones who may have a challenge that prevents them from getting through the day. There's a light at the end of the budget tunnel, and it will depend on all of us to make sure how bright and how long it will shine.
Supervisors, please be a part of that shining light for the caregivers. They are proud and caring and very professional on a job many of us couldn't do.
