Gun access had role in Florida teen's death

August 2, 2013

I am surprised that I have not seen more attention paid to one of the pivotal elements in the tragic death of Trayvon Martin. Does anyone really believe that George Zimmerman would have gotten out of his truck to confront a capable and potentially dangerous male, of any skin color, if he had not had a gun?

Does anyone really believe that Martin would have attacked Zimmerman, even if he felt capable of besting him in a physical contest, if he knew he had a gun?

When are we going to figure out how to deal with the lethal capability in our society that is far too available?

Guns do not kill people? Since when?
