Merced Sun StarAugust 5, 2013

— An 18-year-old driver was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of crashing into a parked vehicle while driving under the influence, police said Sunday.

Officers responded to the 700 block of East Clinton Avenue about 8 a.m. Saturday to investigate reports of a crash, according to Lt. Samuel Joseph.

Police found Robert Morrow and his passenger, a 17-year-old boy, at the scene. Police said Morrow was driving on Clinton when his car veered off the road, crashing into the parked truck and coming to rest against a fence.

According to police, Morrow was driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.13 — higher than the legal limit of 0.08.

Morrow's passenger sustained minor injuries and was released to his parents after being treated at the scene. No additional injuries were reported.

Morrow was booked at the Merced County Jail on suspicion of felony DUI.
