4-H Expo at fairgrounds

The Merced County 4-H Expo will be from 9 a.m to noon on Saturday in the Half Dome building at the Merced County Fairgrounds. All youth in Merced County are invited to attend and learn about 4-H projects, woodworking, arts and crafts, leadership opportunities, summer, outdoor adventure, foods, GPS, gardening and more. 3v3 Soccer Tourney

Merced College will host a 3v3 Soccer Tourney on Aug. 31 at the college for men, women, boys and girls of all ages. Go to for more information.

Volleyball at MC

Merced College will host Alameda and Cuesta Colleges with games at 2, 4 and 6 p.m. on Sept. 6 in the college gymnasium. September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Come out and support the Merced College Volleyball Team.

Human rights event

Breaking Down the Doors of Injustice, a human rights celebration, will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 6 at the United Methodist Church, 899 Yosemite Park Way. Bring a salad for the potluck and a freewill offering will be taken. The speaker will be Debbie Johnson.

50th Reno Air Races

Merced ShakespeareFest

Fitness for seniors

The SPCA is still accepting donations for Trixie, a German Shepherd mix who had knee surgery and is now recovering. Donations can be dropped off at 1021 E. Childs Ave., mailed to SPCA, P.O.
