Fund-raiser Thursday for Art Hop

August 19, 2013

— The Merced Art Hop is scheduled to have its second annual fund-raiser from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Merced Civic Center, 678 W. 18th St.

All proceeds will go toward the Art Hop's expenses and ensuring its sustainability, according to an announcement.

The event will include raffles, prizes, music, hors d'oeuvres and drinks. In addition, more than 10 local artists will showcase their work, along with some painting demonstrations.

Art from local artists will be available during a silent auction, including more than 75 pieces such as paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture and large community paintings by Art Hop attendees.

Raffle prizes include a designer Steve Madden handbag, a Hitachi drill set and more. The Art Hop is one of the city's busiest nights downtown, with an average of about 2,500 people showing up to experience it.

The Art Hop is held four times a year, in January, April, July and October in downtown Merced on the third Saturday of the month.

Tickets are $10 or you can pay at the door. For more information or for sponsorship opportunities, call Kimberly Zamora at (209) 658-0661.
