Around Town: MCAG holds workshops on transportation issues

Injustice topic of talk

Breaking Down the Doors of Injustice, a human rights celebration, will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 6 at the United Methodist Church, 899 Yosemite Park Way. Bring a salad for the potluck and a free will offering will be taken. The speaker will be Debbie Johnson.

Young Eagle Day

The Experimental Aircraft Association's Chapter 1401 will sponsor a Young Eagle Day with registration from 8 to 11 a.m. on Sept. 14 at the Merced Regional Airport, 20 MacReady Drive. Fall prevention program

The Merced County Human Services Agency on Aging will hold free fall prevention classes for seniors with a kick-off on Sept. 18 at 9 a.m. at 851 W. 23rd St. Classes will start on Sept. 23 in Merced, Atwater, Gustine, Livingston, Los Banos and Dos Palos. Mature driver classes

Merced College Office of Continuing Education will offer mature driver improvement classes for community residents over the age of 55 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 18 at the Merced Tri-College Center, Building 5, and from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 17 at the Atwater Community Center, 760 Bellevue Road. PAL golf tournament

ATWATER — The Atwater Police Activities League will hold its fifth annual golf tournament on Oct. 5 at the Rancho Del Rey Golf Course, 5250 Green Sands. Registration is at 7:30 a.m., tee off at 9. Cost is $75 and includes green fees, cart, tee bag and barbecue lunch. The early bird special includes 10 raffle tickets for every person who pays by Sept. 26. Proceeds benefit after-school program, BMX, Castle Boxing Club, Atwater Teen Advisory Council, Junior Giants, police cadets, summer theatre and tennis.
