PFLAG meeting Tuesday

'As You Like It' staged

The 12th season of Merced ShakespeareFest will present "As You Like It" at Applegate Park, 26th and N streets on Saturday, Sunday, and Sept. 21 and 22 at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturdays and 5 p.m. Sundays. Pancakes in Atwater

ATWATER — Atwater Volunteer Fire Company No. 61 will hold a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon Sunday at the fire station at Gurr Road and Highway 140. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Call (209) 385-7340.

Retired Teachers brunch

It's hip to dance square

It's square dance time, with classes starting at 7 p.m. Sept. 16 at Stratford Evans Hall, 15th and B streets. Ages 12 to 90-plus are welcome. The first three classes are free, then cost only $4 per class for adults and $2 for children under 18. Call (209) 722-5315.

Parkinson's support

Mission Gardens will hold a Parkinson's support group at 10 a.m. Sept. 19 at 1450 E. 27th St. The topic will be empowerment through movement with speaker Starr Carson Cleary. Call (209) 384-3300.

Barbecue and auction

The 23rd annual Bill Kirby Western Barbecue-Auction will take place at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Yosemite. Tickets are $40 per person and include dinner and music by Central California Events and Entertainment.
