Merced SPCA meeting

Atwater Women’s Club

90th anniversary fete

Bear Creek Nazarene Church will celebrate its 90th anniversary at 6 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday at the church, 1717 E. Olive Ave. The theme is reverence for the past, passion for the present and vision for the future.

PAL golf tournament

The Atwater Police Activities League will host its fifth annual golf tournament with registration at 7:30 a.m. and tee-off at 9 a.m. Oct. 5 at the Rancho Del Rey Golf Course, 5250 Green Sands. Cost is $75 and includes greens fee, cart, tee bag and a barbecue lunch. Every person who pays by today gets 10 raffle tickets. Proceeds benefit after-school programs, BMX, Castle Boxing Club, Atwater Teen Advisory Council, Junior Giants, Police Cadets, Summer Theatre and tennis. Call (209) 357-0986 or (209) 357-6320.

Movie at the library

The Livingston Library will show the movie “Cheaper by the Dozen” at 10 a.m. Oct. 5 at 1212 Main St. A discussion of how the movie differs from the book on which it’s based will follow. Call (209) 394-7330.

Lions pancake breakfast

The Atwater-Winton Lions Club will host a Pancake Breakfast Buffet from 7 a.m. to noon Oct. 5 at the Atwater Women’s Club at Grove and Third streets. Tickets are $6 per person; children under 5 eat free. After breakfast, shop at the Back Yard Sale. Proceeds will benefit Camp Pacifica and local Lions projects. Call (209) 358-1668.

Christian bikers rally

“Riding Together With Jesus,” the seventh annual Christian bikers rally, will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 5, starting at the Madera County Fairgrounds, Highway 99 and Cleveland Avenue. This is a free event and there will be vendors with food and merchandise as well as live bands, speakers, a motorcycle swap meet, bike games, arm wrestling and children’s activities. Victims Remembrance Walk

Everyone is invited to join the fifth annual Riley Brothers Victims Remembrance Walk, starting at noon Oct. 12 in the Food Maxx parking lot, 1300 W. Olive Ave. Come and walk with us as we remember our loved ones.
