Elks serving breakfast, Bloody Mary’s too

An Elks Pancake Breakfast will be held from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Elks Park. Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for children. The meal includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, fruit, coffee and orange juice. Bloody Mary’s are also available.

Zoological Society to present Zoo Boo

The Merced Zoological Society will hold Zoo Boo from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 25-26 at Applegate Park Zoo. There also will be a carnival for younger children. Call (209) 756-4014 for more information.

Shooting match to benefit veterans

The Valley Veterans 3-Gun Match will be at 9 a.m. Nov. 2 at the River Oaks Range, 11584 N. Shaffer Road. The event is sponsored by the Safety First Shooting Association and American Legion Post No. 83. Firearms and ammo provided. All proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warriors Project. Free Over Three pet adoption event

The Merced SPCA will hold its first Free Over Three adoption event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 2 at the center, 1021 E. Childs Ave. Any pet over the age of 3 will be adopted out free after approval and a home visit. Please bring a collar, leash or cat carrier. You must be a resident of Merced County. Flag display coming to Merced College

The Merced Sunrise Rotary Club will fly hundreds of U.S. flags on Veterans Day at Merced College. Volunteers are needed to put on this event. Flags can be purchased for $35 each and will recognize individuals, veterans, active-duty military personnel and first responders, and can be purchased for $35 each. Fall Fizz Omelette Brunch to benefit Boys and Girls Club

The Law Office of Fagalde, Albertoni, Flores LLP will present the annual Fall Fizz Omelette Brunch from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 3 at the McCombs Youth Center, 615 W. 15th St. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. Italian Catholic Federation sponsoring casino bus trip

The Italian Catholic Federation will sponsor a Day at Chukchansi Casino on Nov. 4. Cost is $31 per person and you receive $10 for gaming and $5 toward lunch. There will be refreshments and a raffle on the bus. The bus will leave from 23rd and M streets at 9 a.m. and leave to return at 3:30 p.m. Please bring your driver’s license or photo ID.
