The Republicans continue to demonstrate incompetency of leadership.
This is in contrast to the Democrats and the president. It is a shame our president does not demonstrate the same skill sets when it comes to foreign policy and economics. Republicans assert the president showed no leadership during the recent shutdown. Actually, the president achieved everything he wanted while the Republicans appeared disorganized and politically cannibalistic.
The administration intentionally inflicted pain on the American people as a political strategy. Republicans, having drawn their line in the sand, completely folded. In the end, the American people suffered for naught; we as citizens gained nothing, making the whole thing a political exercise for those who live well and are insulated inside the Beltway.
I have come to the realization that our only hope is to create a strong third party; a party that represents simple and fundamental American principles; one that attracts 60 percent of the American voters who, when polled, would vote all current elected officials out of office. A loosely coalesced third party could form a controlling voting bloc that puts Americans before any party affiliation. If we, the American people, do not change Washington, we have only ourselves to blame.
