Ada Givens fall festival

The Ada Givens Elementary School PTC is looking for food vendors for its fall festival. The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the school. For more information, call (209) 606-0577 or go to ptc@sarahandconnor.net.

Cioppino dinner, auction

The Greater Merced Chamber of Commerce will have a cioppino dinner and auction at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 8 at the Merced County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $50 each or $400 to sponsor a table of eight. Gold Sponsor is $600 and includes all-you-can-eat cioppino, steak, pasta, bread and salad. For more information, call (209) 384-7092.

Free Over Three pet adoption event

The Merced SPCA will hold its first Free Over Three adoption event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 2 at the center, 1021 E. Childs Ave. Any pet over the age of 3 will be adopted for free after approval and a home visit following the event. You must be a resident of Merced County. The Atwater VFW Post 9946 will hold its annual barbecue tri-tip dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 8 at the VFW Memorial Hall, 1390 Broadway. Tickets are $7. The meal is tri-tip, baked beans, salad, roll and ice cream. Call (209) 358-7224. Proceeds will benefit community and veterans programs.

Building Human Asset

The Boys and Girls Club of Merced will hold Building Human Asset Meeting, Part 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 30 at 615 W. 15 St. Learning and support services to improve the home, school, neighborhood and workplace networks of parents and children in crisis will be included. New Year’s dinner, dance

Celebrate with the Twi’ Lighters on New Year’s Eve from 6 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. at the American Legion Hall, 939 W. Main St. Latin, country, salsa andold school music will be featured.
