Leadership is not about voting yes or no. Its about presenting thoughtful and solution-oriented ideas, debating them and getting whats best for this community.
What initiatives has Noah Lor put forth to improve this community? His responses at recent debates lack detail, are generic, and often completely miss the mark. When asked at the UC Merced debate what he would do to bridge the gap between the UC and city of Merced, he responded that he would increase bus transportation. He was also asked what his greatest accomplishment was in the past six years on the City Council and he responded that the council has done lots of good things. When asked what song best described him at another debate, he sang the Barney theme song.
Surely we expect more from our city leaders? Lors financial contributors were mainly from out-of-town and out-of-state residents. What is their interest in a local mayoral race? Will outside interests override the concerns of local residents? Finally, why is Lor running for mayor when he has two years left on the council? Is this election about whats best for Merced or for Lors political career?
