Many negative letters have been written about President Obama lately; a recent letter sarcastically brands him a socialist, blames him for increasing the national debt by 60 percent, doubling food stamp recipients, voting in a law that no one understood, having 11 states with more people on welfare than working, and overseeing a corrupt IRS, and accuses him of not working with congressional Republicans.
This is what Obama inherited at his 2009 inauguration: the worst recession since 1929; the near-collapse of a deregulated Wall Street; a $1 trillion unfunded war going nowhere; huge deficits; a bankrupt automobile industry; and lowered world esteem.
He helped rescue the U.S. auto industry; ended the Iraq War and caught Osama bin Laden; passed a stimulus, reducing the effects of the recession; regulated Wall Street abuses; and passed Obamacare, helping all Americans access health care. Private insurance companies competing for customers on public exchanges hardly constitutes socialism; deficits have been reduced 50 percent; and 4 million new jobs were created amid a slow recovery. And theres a do-nothing obstructionist Republican House that recently used a government shutdown and debt default threat to support their extreme agenda.
His presidency isnt a bust these letters are.
