Gallery to host art exhibit

VFW to host annual dinner

The Atwater VFW Post 9946 will host its annual BBQ Tri-Tip Dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the VFW Memorial Hall, 1390 Broadway. Tickets are $7. The meal includes tri-tip, baked beans, salad, roll and ice cream. Call (209) 358-7224. Proceeds will benefit community and veterans programs.

World Community Day set

Church Women United in the Merced Area is hosting a World Community Day and annual meeting from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Parish Hall, 671 E. Yosemite Ave., Merced. The theme “Walking Through the Doors of Opportunity,” will be sharing information on LifeLine, a nonprofit organization for empowering communities in our area. Call (209) 722-6101.

Marines to celebrate birthday

California State Retirees will hold a luncheon meeting at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 13 at Carrows Restaurant, 720 Motel Drive in Merced. Receive the latest news on issues affecting retirees. Poinsettia plants for sale
