Keep pedaling, Merced

November 29, 2013

We were glad to see federal money arriving to build new bicycle lanes in Merced. The Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program coughed up $88,286 to go along with other funding to build lanes along Childs Avenue, 21st Street and M, R, S, V and 11th streets. Those are the first of 106 projects expected to be undertaken over the next three years, according to the city’s John Sagin. Hopefully, that will not only encourage city residents to get on their bikes, but eventually it will be easier – and safer – to ride a bike back and forth from the city to UC Merced.

Merced Sun-Star is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news.
