Elizabeth Dominguez: Distracted drivers are scary

December 13, 2013

Being a teenager getting ready to begin driving, I have begun to observe the driving methods of those around me. I have come to realize that there are a number of adults and teens who are “distracted drivers.” These are people who are trying to multitask while driving. This includes using the phone, eating and/or drinking and attending to personal hygiene.

I have been in a car where it was a near-miss because the driver was distracted. After that, I have come to notice that there are so many people who are putting their lives, other drivers’ lives and the lives of their passengers in danger.

Please focus on the road at all times so we can be closer to staying safe on the road.
