Robert Rodriguez: Stop texting and driving

December 19, 2013

As a young driver, I understand safety is everything. I also realize in order to be safe, you must break bad habits. And a habit that has been consistently a problem is texting while driving. I can almost guarantee that every driver – young and older – have at least sent one text while driving. This is a serious matter in our lives; preventing it can save thousands of lives.

People might not think of it as a big deal, yet these commercials on TV where family members lose loved ones because of a simple three-letter text are true! I want everybody to know we can help prevent this easily by not texting! We shouldn’t rely on the authorities to enforce this; we should take the initiative.
