Alice Beasley: Strangers are both kind and helpful

December 20, 2013

There are truly angels in this world and right here in Merced. Sunday, my car quit at the stoplight on M Street and Bear Creek Drive. A couple of people stopped to see if I needed help, but I had called the tow service so they drove on. One man, a Mr. Martinez, actually parked his car and pushed me to Alexander and around the corner so I was out of the way of traffic. He wouldn’t take any money for his effort. I am so thankful there are people like Mr. Martinez in our city. It didn’t take AAA long to arrive and tow the car.
