Las Cruces, NM (SportsNetwork.com) - Daniel Mullings finished with 18 points as the New Mexico State Aggies took down the South Alabama Jaguars, 82-64, in a non-conference meeting at the Pan American Center.
For the Aggies (11-5), DK Eldridge posted a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, Tshilidzi Nephawe added 12 points and nine boards, and KC Ross- Miller registered a double-double of his own with 10 points and 10 assists.
Augustine Rubit led the Jaguars (6-7) with 11 points and Antoine Allen chipped in with 10 points.
New Mexico State connected on 59.3 percent of its shots from the field in the first half, as the Aggies went into the break with a 37-26 advantage. USA struggled from the floor in the first, making only 39.3 percent of its field goal tries, including 0-of-5 from 3-point range.
After intermission, the Jaguars improved to 46.7 percent shooting. Unfortunately for them, the Aggies continued their hot shooting, knocking down 68 percent of their field goal attempts in the second half. An 11-4 run coming out of halftime gave the Aggies their largest lead at 18 points, and they kept their advantage in double figures the rest of the way as they cruised to victory.
The Aggies dominated in the frontcourt, outrebounding the Jaguars, 38-24, and outscoring them in the paint, 36-28.
