Davidson, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Behind 26 points and 21 rebounds from Willis Hall, both career highs, the College of Charleston Cougars outlasted the Davidson Wildcats, 76-64, in a non-conference bout at Belk Arena.
Hall shot 10-of-14 from the field for Charleston (7-7) in the team's first- ever 20-point/20-rebound performance as a Division I program. Anthony Thomas and Nori Johnson each chipped in with 11 points for the visitors.
For Davidson (4-10), Brian Sullivan scored 13 points and Tom Droney poured in 12.
The back-and-forth first half consisted of 10 ties and 10 lead changes, with Davidson carrying a 35-33 lead into intermission.
Charleston shot an impressive 52.4 percent from the field in the first half, but it was even better in the second stanza at 68.2 percent. Trailing by one with under 14 minutes to play, the Cougars used a 19-4 run to pull away.
The Wildcats had a poor night shooting both from the field (.390) and the free-throw line (9-of-20) while also losing the rebounding battle, 39-27.
