Program for cancer survivors

Pathways Towards Recovery is a free, eight-week restorative wellness program for post-treatment adult cancer survivors and caregivers. The program runs from 3 to 4 p.m., Monday and Wednesday, Feb. 4 through March 26 at Mercy Medical Center Pavilion, 333 Mercy Ave., Merced.

Cioppino dinner

The Merced Breakfast Lions Club will have its 34th annual cioppino dinner at 7 p.m. Jan. 18 at the Atwater APC Hall, 1420 Third St. Social hour starts at 6 p.m. There will be a raffle with prizes including Monterey Bay Aquarium tickets and a big screen television. Tickets are $45 and can be bought at Peraino Jewlers, Merced Antique Mall, mercedbreakfastlions.org, or by calling Mike Carpenter at (209) 384-0727. All proceeds stay within the greater Merced community.

Band boosters fundraiser

The Livingston High School Band Boosters will have a fund-raising breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon Jan. 12 at the high school cafeteria. “Bring in the New Year with the LHS Band” will feature a breakfast of scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, hash browns and a drink. Students in the band and color guard will serve guests and the LHS Jazz Ensemble will entertait. The cost is $8 per person. Proceeds will be used to help buy new color guard uniforms.

“I Love You ... ” on stage

Playhouse Merced presents “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” starting Friday. There will be weekend performances through Jan. 26. at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Ticket prices are $22 for adults, $20 seniors, $12 students and $10 children. Call (209) 725-8587 for tickets or visit the box office at 452 W. Main St., Merced, Tuesday through Saturday, from 1 to 5 p.m.

Pasta-to-go dinner

A drive-through pasta-to-go dinner will be offered from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Italo-American Lodge, 1351 W. 18th St. Sponsored by the Committee to Elect Tony Dossetti to Merced County District 3 Supervisor. Tickets are $10. Dinner includes pasta, roll and salad. Call (209) 722-2821 for more information.

Get tax return help

The AARP TaxAide program will prepare tax returns free for low- and middle-income people starting. Begins Feb. 4 and runs every Tuesday and Thursday through April 10, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Merced Senior Center, 755 W. 15th St. No appointment is necessary. All volunteers are trained and certified using IRS material. You do not have to be a senior to receive this free service.
