Alfredsson headlines Sweden's roster for Sochi Olympics

( - Detroit Red Wings forward Daniel Alfredsson will be participating in a fifth Winter Olympics as a member of Sweden's men's hockey team that was announced Tuesday.

Sweden lost in the quarterfinals four years ago in Vancouver. Twelve players are back from that team.

A total of six members of the Red Wings make up the Swedish squad. Goaltender Jonas Gustavsson, defensemen Niklas Kronwall and Jonathan Ericsson and forwards Henrik Zetterberg and Johan Franzen join Alfredsson.

Vancouver's Daniel and Henrik Sedin also headline the Swedish squad.

The complete Swedish roster is as follows:

Goaltenders: Jhonas Enroth, Jonas Gustavsson, Henrik Lundqvist.

Defensemen: Alexander Edler, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Jonathan Ericsson, Niklas Hjalmarsson, Erik Karlsson, Niklas Kronwall, Johnny Oduya, Henrik Tallinder.

Forwards: Daniel Alfredsson, Nicklas Backstrom, Patrik Berglund, Jimmie Ericsson, Loui Eriksson, Johan Franzen, Carl Hagelin, Marcus Kruger, Gabriel Landeskog, Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin, Jakob Silfverberg, Alexander Steen, Henrik Zetterberg.
