Spartanburg, SC (SportsNetwork.com) - Lee Skinner recorded a double-double of 28 points and 13 rebounds as the Wofford Terriers outlasted The Citadel Bulldogs, 79-75, in overtime in a Southern Conference duel at Benjamin Johnson Arena.
Spencer Collins tallied 14 points and Karl Cochran had 12 points to go with seven rebounds and six assists for Wofford (7-8, 2-1 SoCon), which has won four of its last five.
Matt Van Scyoc paced The Citadel (4-13, 0-2) with 22 points and seven rebounds. Ashton Moore added 19 points and Quinton Marshall had 17. The Bulldogs have lost five straight.
In the first half The Citadel shot 56 percent from the floor, including a 5- of-8 showing from beyond the arc, to claim a 36-33 lead at halftime. Wofford shot just 48.1 percent, but stayed close by winning the battle of the boards (16-11).
Skinner scored 15 points in the second half, but it was Cochran that nailed a jumper with 35 seconds left in regulation that tied the game and forced overtime.
Collins scored the first four points of the extra session and the Terriers held on by going 5-of-8 from the free-throw line in the period.
The Citadel had a 30-9 scoring advantage from beyond the arc. Wofford owned the boards (39-25) and had a 17-6 edge in second chance points.
