CalRTA Lunch

California Retired Teachers Association will be sponsoring a lunch at Gateway Gardens (formally Bubba’s) and a tour of the Merced County Courthouse Museum. The group is meeting at the Courthouse Museum at 10 a.m. for the tour and will be followed by lunch at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 19. Santo Nino de Cebu celebration

The 26th Annual Santo Nino de Cebu celebration begins at 11 a.m. Jan. 19 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Livingston. After mass there will be a procession to the church reception hall. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. Food and entertainment representing the Filipino culture will complete the celebration. Tickets will be sold at the door only -- $7 for adults, $3 children ages 7 to 12. For more information, call (209) 394-2331. Proceeds benefit St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church.

Candidate serves up pasta

A drive-through pasta-to-go dinner will be offered from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Italo-American Lodge, 1351 W. 18th St. Sponsored by the Committee to Elect Tony Dossetti to Merced County District 3 Supervisor. Prescription eyeglasses/hearing aids sought

The Merced Breakfast Lions Club maintains a series of drop-off locations for used and unused prescription eyeglasses or hearing aids. Items can be dropped off at the offices of doctors David Baba, Paul Smith, Jeffrey Lee, Save Mart at Olive Avenue/G Street, in addition to the Optical Department at Costco. Castle Air Museum Foundation seeks volunteers

Free legal services for seniors

Central California Legal Services Inc. and Merced County provide free legal services to seniors. Clients must live in Merced County, be 60-plus years old and a U.S. citizen. Appointments are available in Dos Palos, Livingston, Los Banos, Atwater and Merced. Call (209) 385-7550.

Merced Flea and Farmers Market

The Merced Flea and Farmers Market runs every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. behind the fairgrounds, 900 G St. EBT is accepted.
