Zumba fitness class

Certified instructor Elsa Lopez teaches zumba fitness classes from 5:45. to 6:45 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Walnut Child Development Center, 2600 Walnut in Livingston. Class is $30 a month. Castle museum fundraiser

Castle Air Museum will have Pasta Night fundraiser from 4 to 7 p.m. Jan. 25 in the museum’s dining room, 5050 Santa Fe Drive, Atwater. The cost is $10 per person. NAMI presentation

National Alliance on Mental Illness will have a free mental health crisis family readiness presentation at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at 1137 B St. People attending will learn what they need to know and what to have ready in the event someone in the family experiences mental health crisis. CVOC scholarship project

Central Valley Opportunity Center has six scholarships of $1,500 each to award to high school students in Madera, Merced and Stanislaus counties this year. Each will be awarded on a competitive basis. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and plan to attend a post-secondary educational institution in the fall. Applications are available at all high schools in the three counties. Students should contact their school counselor or Alicia Chavez at achavez@cvoc.or or (209) 357-0062, ext. 123. Deadline is April 4.

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library will have a sweetheart sale in February. All hardback general fiction and mysteries will be sold on a buy-one-get-one-free basis.All children’s books will be 25 cents. All proceeds go to the library to buy new materials. The bookstore is at 2100 O St. and is open every afternoon.
