ATWATER — Relay For Life lot sale
Merced Relay for Life Parking Lot Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon March 1 at the Merced High School parking lot on Olive Ave. The proceeds will be used to help prevent cancer, fund research and save lives.
Historical Society meeting
The Merced County Historical Society will hold its annual membership meeting at 2 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Merced County Board of Supervisors chamber. At the meeting, a slate of Historical Society officers and board members will be installed, and several awards and grants will be presented to local individuals and organizations for their efforts in preserving and maintaining Merced County history. Keynote speaker Grey Roberts will give a PowerPoint presentation titled The History of Central California Indian Basketry. The membership meeting is free and open to the public. There will be a small business workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 5 at Alliance SBDC, 1810 K St. The workshop is titled Wheres The Money? Mens church event
A game feed for men will be Tuesday at Yosemite Church, 2230 E. Yosemite Ave, Merced. This event is part of JesusSavesMen Ministries. Buy one ticket at $20 and two men can eat, enjoy fellowship and hear a great story. Dinner will include wild boar, chili, fish, salad, tortillas and dessert. Town hall meetings
The Merced City Council will host a series of town hall meetings: 7 p.m. Wednesday at Rivera Middle School, 945 Buena Vista Drive, and 7 p.m. Feb. 12 at Tenaya Middle School, 760 W. Eighth St. The meetings will be streamed live online. A link to the meeting is on the citys home page at www.cityofmerced.org. The city will also video of the meetings to YouTube. Comcasts Channel 96 will broadcast the meetings live.
Rotary lobster dinner
Atwater Rotary Club will have its annual Lobster Fest dinner at 7 p.m. Feb. 1 at the APC Hall, Third and Elm streets, Atwater. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Dinner is a 11/2-pound whole lobster with salad, pasta, bread and dessert. No-host bar. Love INC fundraiser
Love in the Name of Christ annual dinner-auction fundraiser will be at 5:30 p.m. March 8 at the Gateway Community Church, 353 E. Donna Drive. Tickets are $20 each or $150 for a table of eight. Merced High School will hold a parent-student orientation for incoming ninth-graders at 6 p.m. Feb. 19 in the gym. This is an opportunity for parents and students to meet administrators, counselors, teachers and coaches and get information about the transition to high school.
