Sign-ups open for Pacheco Triathlon

February 4, 2014

Pacheco High’s water polo and track teams will host the second-annual Pacheco Spring Triathlon at 8 a.m. on March 22.

The triathlon has three distances available – a sprint course (three-mile run, 10-mile bike ride and 400-yard swim), a long course (six-mile run, 20-mile bike ride and 800-yard swim) and a relay sprint course with the same distances as the sprint course. The run and bike routes go through the neighborhoods around Pacheco High, and the swim portion takes place in Pacheco High’s pool.

Cost is $45 for the sprint course, $65 for the long course and $100 for the group relay. The event open for sign-ups at www.pachecospringtriathlon.weebly.com, and participation will be capped at 100 participants. Registration is open until March 21 or until the cap is reached.

Volunteers, sponsors and donations are needed as well. Details: Josh Weinberger at panthersh2opolo@hotmail.com.
