Merced County Office of Education to hold student aid workshop

February 6, 2014

— The Merced County Office of Education’s Cal-SOAP program will host a workshop Saturday at the Merced Mall to help students and their families with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, more commonly known as FAFSA.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the center court area of the mall and participants are asked to bring their Social Security card, 2013 income information, records of untaxed income and a list of colleges in which they are interested, according to an MCOE press release.

There will also be information about the new middle-class scholarship program that starts this year, and high school students who attend a cash for college FAFSA workshop are eligible to be placed in a lottery to win a $1,000 scholarship for college.

For a list of additional dates and questions, call (209) 381-5909 or go to http://calsoap.mcoe.org.
