Valentine’s breakfast

LA GRANGE – In celebration of Valentine’s month, La Grange Rebekah Lodge 323 will hold a special heart breakfast Feb. 16. The menu is ham-and-cheese omelet, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, with coffee and juice included, for $5. Breakfast is served from 7 to 11 a.m. at the IOOF Hall on Main Street. World Day of Prayers

Church Women United is hosting its Annual World Day of Prayers from 9:30 a.m. to noon March 7 at the First Church of Christ Holiness USA, 509 Martin Luther King Jr. Way. “Streams in the Desert” is the theme. Light refreshments will be available. All women in the area are invited to attend and get acquainted with their Christian sisters. For more information, call (209) 722-6101. Customer service workshop

The Greater Merced Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Merced College Customer Service Academy, will offer a two-day workshop on customer service from 8 a.m. to noon Feb. 20 and Feb. 27 at the Merced College Business Resource Center, 630 W. 19th St. The workshop will be repeated on those days from 1 to 5 p.m. The class is $26, and participants will earn a half-unit of college credit. Parkinson’s support group

The entire community is invited to attend a Parkinson’s Support Group meeting hosted by Amie Marchini, 10 a.m. Feb. 20 at Mission Gardens, 1450 E. 27th St. The featured speaker will be Lori Ferriera from Merced Medical Supply, who will discuss and demonstrate how to use medical equipment safely in and out of the home. She will also present information on how to acquire medical equipment, with a focus on Medicare’s new regulations. For more information or to RSVP, call (209) 384-3300.

Alcohol board meeting

The Merced County advisory board on alcohol and other drug problems will meet at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 18 at the county’s Mental Health Administration building, 1137 B St.
