Spring-like temperatures around 70 degrees forecast for Thursday and Friday in Sacramento are a prelude to a rainy weekend.
The forecast for Thursday calls for a high near 70 with light winds in the Sacramento region. Similar conditions are forecast for Friday.
Then wet, unsettled weather moves into Northern California on Saturday. Rain totals this weekend are expected to range from a few hundredths of an inch on the valley floor to up to 1.5 inches in the foothills and lower slopes of the Sierra Nevada.
Snowfall accumulations in the mountains will range from a few inches up to almost a foot at the highest elevations, according to the National Weather Service.
