Grand Forks, ND (SportsNetwork.com) - Flavien Davis scored 19 points, leading five players in double figures, as the Montana State Bobcats posted a 78-70 win over North Dakota in Big Sky Conference play at the Sioux Center.
Shooting 4-of-5 from the field and a perfect 6-of-6 at the free-throw line, Marcus Colbert added 16 points for the Bobcats (12-12, 7-6 Big Sky), followed by the trio of Paul Egwuonwu, Eric Norman and Stephan Holm with 10 points each in the triumph as well.
North Dakota (10-13, 7-6) was paced by Aaron Anderson who delivered a game- high 20 points and handed out five assists, while shooting 5-of-8 behind the 3-point line, followed by Troy Huff who posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds in the losing effort.
The hosts shot just 9-of-25 from the floor in the first half, including 3- of-12 behind the 3-point line, compared to MSU with 47.8 percent accuracy from the field and a near-perfect 11-of-12 at the free-throw line in order to grab a 36-25 advantage at the break.
In the second half UND fought back with 8-of-20 shooting beyond the arc, but the Bobcats refused to be tracked down, connecting on 57.9 percent from the floor and 17-of-20 at the charity stripe.
The visitors overcame 17 turnovers by outscoring North Dakota at the free- throw line by a whopping 28-7 margin.
