With the cancellation of the Merco Cycling Classic, the 27th annual Snelling Road Race and the 28th Merced Criterium become Merced’s premier cycling events.
Both will take place this weekend, with the Road Race from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and the Merced Criterium going from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The Road Race will be an 11.5-mile loop through the Snelling back roads. There will be 13 different races spanning different skill levels for men, women, juniors, seniors and masters with the participants riding from 3-6 laps. Parking for the event will be set up at Henderson County Park in Snelling. The Merced Criterium is a seventh of a mile loop that will run on M and N streets, extending from Courthouse Park to Main Street.
