LOS BANOS — The parents of two Los Banos teenagers could face legal penalties as a result of their sons suspected involvement in vandalism, the Los Banos Police Department said Friday.
Two teenagers, ages 16 and 15, were arrested earlier this week in connection with graffiti sprayed on the side of a business in the 1300 block of West Pacheco Boulevard, the Police Department said in a news release.
Officer Greg Fillebrown detained both teenagers after finding the fresh graffiti and learned both were on probation. Police found spray paint cans, permanent marking pens and other unspecified property that had been reported stolen, Cmdr. Jason Hedden said in the statement.
Both juveniles admitted to stealing items, including spray paint, from the businesses, Hedden said.
They were booked at the Iris Garrett Juvenile Justice Correctional Complex on suspicion of burglary and vandalism.
This case could result in both criminal and administrative penalties for the suspects and their parents, Hedden said. We want to get the word out that defacement of property will not be tolerated.
Hedden encouraged witnesses to vandalism and other crimes to contact authorities as quickly as possible.
