Gospel Music concert

Scholarships available

The San Joaquin Section of the California Association of Supervisors of Child Welfare and Attendance is offering scholarships to area high school seniors. The Anthony Brucia Success Award is awarded to a student that has overcome adversity and is now successful. Applications are available from high school scholarship counselors and are due by Tuesday. Workshop on working with people

Merced College will hold a two-day workshop with four generations working side by side from 8 a.m. to noon April 3 and 10 at the Merced College Business Resource Center, 630 W. 19th St. The generational diversity class workshop will cover skills needed in working with and valuing members of different generations. Reading Society meets

Lions Club offers scholarships

The Atwater-Winton Lions Club will award two scholarships to qualified applicants from Atwater and Buhach Colony high schools, to students who plan to obtain a degree in a vocational education such as nursing, dental technician, auto mechanics, computer technician, cosmetology, etc. The scholarships are $1,000 each and the deadline for applications is April 15. AARP meets

The Atwater AARP 2194 meets at 1 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Community Center, 760 Bellevue Road. For more information, call (209) 357-7391.

Weight-loss meeting set

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. at 2300 Cascade Drive in the clubhouse at Castle Vista. For more information, call (209) 628-9720.
