Cinderella’s Closet

accepting donations

Cinderella’s Closet will have dresses, shoes and accessories for girls who need of them to attend their prom. The closet will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at 1836 K St. We are accepting donations. Call (209) 386-4034 for more information.

SPCA adoption event

The Merced Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will have an adoption event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Petco, 1230 Commerce Ave. Adoption fees are cash only and include all health treatments. Call (209) 384-7722 for more information.

Merced College plant sale

Merced College will hold its annual plant sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the college greenhouses. Items for sale include vegetables, herbs, perennials, succulents, fruit and shade trees. Call (209) 631-2026 for more information.

Habitat for Humanity to hold yard sale

Habitat for Humanity will hold its yard sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 2916 N. McKee Road. There will be spaces for rent. St. Paul Lutheran Hmong Ministries and the St. Paul Lutheran School will have a rummage sale at the same time. Call (209) 769-1884 for more information.

Livingston Kite Festival

The third annual Kite Festival will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday at Livingston Middle School, 101 F St. Free admission. The festival will include activities such as pie-eating contests, face painting, bounce houses, food, crafts and kite vendors. The first 500 children get a free kite. Proceeds benefit youth sports.

‘Stop the Violence’ fundraiser

“Stop the Violence – Feet Changing Lives,” a fundraiser, making our neighborhoods safer through our presence and prayers, will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on April 19 at the Senior Center, 755 W. 15th St. Cost is $25 per person. ‘Big Red One’ reunion
