3K run for camp

Peggy Heller School will hold its first “3K for Camp Fun Run” on Saturday. Registration is at 7:30 a.m. and the run starts at 8 a.m. at 201 Lakeview Drive. The fundraiser helps send sixth-graders to the Jack L. Boyd Outdoor School at Camp Green Meadows. For more information, call (209) 357-6517.

SPCA event canceled

A Merced SPCA adoption event scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Petco in Atwater has been canceled.

SPCA membership meeting

The Merced Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will hold its annual membership meeting and elections at 7 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Merced, 500 Buena Vista St. Positions to be voted on are vice president, fundraising director and publicity director. Chicken dinner in El Nido

The El Nido Parent Teacher Club will host a chicken dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. April 17 at the school, 161 E. El Nido Road. Cost is $15 and includes a half-chicken, salad, potatoes and roll. Dinner is to-go only. Deadline to purchase tickets is Monday No tickets will be sold at the dinner. Drinks will be available for purchase. For more information, call (209) 385-8420. ‘Talk to God’ at conference

Volunteer drivers sought

The local chapter of Disabled American Veterans is looking for volunteer drivers. Volunteering to drive a vet ensures that even those living remotely from VA hospitals can make their appointments and not go without the treatment they need. Senior legal services

Central California Legal Services Inc. and Merced County provide free legal services to seniors. Clients must live in Merced County, be 60-plus years old and a U.S. citizen. Sober Grad committee

The Sober Grad Night committee for Merced and Golden Valley high schools needs members to help plan this year’s June 5 event. For more information, call Debbie at (209) 354-0403.
