Mobile home fire leaves five homeless

April 4, 2014

A fire took place on the 2100 block of East Pacheco Boulevard at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Fire Chief Chet Guintini said.

No one was injured in the blaze.

Firefighters responded to the Rancho Los Banos Mobile Park after receiving a report of flames and smoke coming from a mobile home.

Guintini said the fire may have been cause by electrical wires next to the couch or “something else.” Guintini declined to elaborate.

He said the mobile home is occupied by five people, two of which were home at the time but managed to escape the burning trailer.

Guintin said the fire burned the living room and smoke damage could be viewed in the kitchen of the residence. He said the Red Cross was called and is providing residents of the mobile home with temporary accomodations.
