Habitat for Humanity workshop

Habitat for Humanity will have a workshop from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday on the “Brush with Kindness” program, which helps with such projects as setting up handicap ramps, cleaning gutters, painting, trimming bushes and yard cleaning. The clients provide the materials and Habitat volunteers do the work. The workshop cost is $15 and includes lunch, coffee and bagels. Call (209) 769-1884 for more information.

Lions Charity Roundup

The Atwater-Winton Lions Club will have its 14th annual Charity Roundup rib-eye steak and shrimp dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Atwater Community Center, 760 E. Bellevue Road. $30 per person. Adventure Risk Challenge is for teens

UC Berkeley’s Adventure Risk Challenge program is offering a six-week class for teenagers to explore Yosemite National Park. All Merced County ninth- through 12th-graders are eligible to apply. Applications are due by April 25. ARC is a scholarship-based program and partial to full financial support is provided to all accepted students. Mariposa 4-H bike-a-thon

The Mariposa County 4-H Citizenship project will hold its annual bike-a-thon. One-, five- and 10-mile, walk, run or bike. Registration at 8:30 a.m. April 27 at Highway 140 and Indian Gulch. Barbecue lunch at Hornitos Park at the end. All proceeds will go to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Call (209) 376-2320 for details.

Learn flower arranging

The Merced Garden Club will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Fish and Game building at Lake Yosemite. A flower arranging how-to will be presented by Sherrie Miller, Kathy Moren and Joyce Stillman. Call (209) 617-8119 for details.

Merced College luncheon

Merced College Foundation will hold the State of the College address and luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Office of Public Affairs, 3600 M St. Cost is $50 each or sponsor a table of eight for $50. Corporate sponsorships are available for $1,000. Call (209) 381-6470.
