Scholarships available

The Atwater-Winton Lions Club will award two scholarships to qualified student applicants from Atwater and Buhach Colony High schools who plan to obtain a degree in such vocations as nursing, dental technician, auto mechanic, computer technician, cosmetologist, etc. The scholarships are $1,000 each and the deadline for applications is today. Easter egg hunt

The Atwater Methodist Church will hold an Easter Egg Hunt at noon Saturday at the church, Linden Street and Bellevue Road. All children are invited to participate. The afternoon will include pizza, games, music and crafts.

Supervisor will have Q&A meetings

District 3 Supervisor Linn Davis will host a series of question-and-answer public meetings. The first one will be at 6:30 p.m. April 21, 2682 Shaffer Road, Atwater, followed by one in Merced, also at 6:30 p.m., on April 22 at Di Cicco’s, Highway 59 and Buena Vista Drive. Additional meetings will be held May 6, 15, 20 and 29, all at 6:30 p.m., 1210 3rd St., Atwater. Call (209) 777-8219 for more information.

Revival scheduled at Christian Life

ATWATER Christian Life Center will have a revival at 7 p.m. on April 25-26 and 10 a.m. on April 27. All will be held at the center, 1200 Shaffer Road. The guest speaker will be District Elder Cecil Brown Lee of Apostolic Worship Center in Memphis, Tenn. Call (209) 358-1988 for more information.

Old Timers seeks honorees

The Merced County Old Timers Association is looking for individuals to honor at the 72nd annual Old Timers Luncheon. The Old Timers committee was formed in 1942 to honor individuals 85 years or older who have lived in Merced County for 50 years or more. This year’s luncheon will be held on April 27 at the Italo-American Lodge, 1351 W. 18th St.. Honorees receive a free lunch and are presented with certificates from various groups, including the Merced County Board of Supervisors. Snelling breakfast is April 27

The monthly Snelling breakfast will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. on April 27 at the IOOF Hall. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 3 to 12 and free for those younger than 3. The meal includes pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs cooked to order, coffee and juice. Proceeds benefit the Women’s Club projects.
