Pictures with the Easter bunny

The Merced SPCA invites children, pets and adults to take a picture with the Easter Bunny from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Walmart in Merced. The cost for pictures is $5, and there will be raffle tickets, gift baskets, Easter baskets and snacks available to purchase. All proceeds will benefit the SPCA’s no-kill shelter at 1021 E. Dance classes in Merced

The City of Merced’s Recreation Department will offer Nightclub Two-Step Dance classes from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. starting on May 6 through May 27. Cost is $16 plus a $5 supply fee. You can register at 678 W. 18 St. or call (209) 385-6298 for more information.

CASA holding fundraiser

CASA of Merced will hold its annual FUNraiser at 6 p.m. on May 10 at the Merced County Fairgrounds Pavilion, 900 Martin Luther King Jr. Way. Rockin’ for CASA will feature dinner, sock hop music, and live and silent auctions. Tickets are $50 per person. CASA is a nonprofit organization that trains volunteers who provide support for abused and neglected children in Merced County. Call (209) 722-2272 for more information.

Rescue Mission dinner

The Merced County Rescue Mission will host its Oasis Benefit Dinner at 6 p.m. May 16 at Gateway Community Church, 353 E. Donna Dr. Tickets are $35 per person, or you can sponsor a table of eight for $250. All proceeds will help the mission to make it through the summer months. Kiwanis Child Safety Day

The Castle-Atwater Kiwanis will host the 20th annual William C. Lacey Child Safety Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 17 at the Save-Mart shopping center on Bellevue Road and Winton Way. Vietnam vets group seeks members
