Former Rep. Tony Coelho to speak at Democratic Party dinner in Merced

— Tony Coelho, a former congressman who represented the Central Valley, is scheduled to be the keynote speaker Tuesday during the Merced County Democratic Party’s Jefferson-Jackson Dinner.

The dinner also will honor lifelong Democrats Priscilla Fitchett, Bill Stockard, and Norm and Shirley Vaughn-Hulbert.

The dinner will be held at 7 p.m. at Merced Golf & Country Club, 6333 N. Golf Road in Merced.

Ticket prices are $1,000 for a “Gold Sponsor” table of eight, $500 for a “Silver Sponsor” table of eight, $400 for a reserved table of eight.

Individual tickets are $45 per person or $80 per couple.

Other special guests will include Rep. Jim Costa, Assemblyman Adam Gray, state Sen. Cathleen Galgiani, and former Reps. Dennis Cardoza and Gary Condit. Also expected to attend are former Assembly members Rusty Areias, Sal Cannella and Barbara Matthews.
