Youth sports parade

The Merced Golden Lions will hold their annual youth sports parade at 10 a.m. Saturday starting at Martin Luther King Jr. Way and O Street. Opening games will follow at the Merced Youth Sports Complex on V St. and Wardrobe Avenue. A variety of dance groups will entertain at Bob Hart Square at 8:45 a.m.

Church revival in Atwater

ATWATER Christian Life Center in have a revival at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 10 a.m. Sunday at 1200 Shaffer Road. The guest speaker will be District Elder Cecil BrownLee of Apostolic Worship Center in Memphis, Tenn. Call (209) 358-1988 for more information.

Mariposa bike-a-thon

The Mariposa County 4-H Citizenship project will have its annual bike-a-thon with registration at 8:30 a.m. Sunday at Highway 140 and Indian Gulch. There will be a one-, five- and 10-mile, walk, run or bike. There will be a barbecue lunch at Hornitos Park at the end. All proceeds will go to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Merced College classes

Life-long learning and leisure activity classes are available in May through the Community Services Office at Merced College. The classes are noncredit and range from ceramics to fitness boot camp. Call (209) 384-6224 or go to mercedcommunityservices.com for more information.

Courthouse museum exhibit

The Merced County Courthouse Museum will open a Smithsonian traveling exhibit, “The Way We Worked,” at 5 p.m. May 1 at the museum, 21st and N streets. This exhibit explores how work has become a central element in American culture and the changes experienced over 150 years. Call (209) 723-2401 for more information.

Flags for Warriors

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 83 is taking orders and renewals for its Flags For Warriors program. Flags will bear the name and photo of the warrior and be posted in front of the Veterans Hall on Memorial Day, July 4 and Veterans’ Day. Each flag is $10.
