Ralph Morris: Balance just looks like bias to some

April 22, 2014

It seems, according to “Sun-Star too liberal” and “Perspective page editor has no brains” (Letters, April 22) that unless the Sun-Star daily savages liberals, the federal government and particularly attacks President Barack Obama, adopting a radical right-wing position in its editorial and Perspective pages, the paper must be “too liberal.”

Unfortunately, some are blinded by their own political agenda and expect the press to simply roll over and uphold their radical right-wing hatred for tolerance and diversity of opinion – the cornerstone of a free society and this great nation. To the contrary, this newspaper attempts to actually be “fair and balanced” (unlike Fox News), one of the underpinnings of a free press, free people and a representative democracy under our Constitution.
