Youth Sports Parade scheduled for Saturday

The Merced Golden Lions will hold their 15th annual Youth Sports Parade at 10 a.m. Saturday starting at Martin Luther King Jr. Way and O Street.

Organizers of the event said their goal is to celebrate sports and encourage youths to participate in academic, sport, city and private leagues.

Opening games will follow at the Merced Youth Sports Complex at V Street and Wardrobe Avenue. A variety of dance groups will entertain at Bob Hart Square from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. The event will also feature the Sol Del Valle Mexican dancers and other local talent.
