Two-Step Dance classes

Atwater will observe National Day of Prayer at noon Thursday at City Hall, 750 Bellevue Road. Observance elsewhere on Thursday: Livingston, noon and 7 p.m., City Hall, 633 Main St.; Merced, noon, at Bob Hart Square downtown.
Johnny Rocket and the Thrust
Merced County Arts Council will present Johnny Rocket and the Thrust from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Multicultural Arts Center, 645 W. Main St. Tickets are $12 for members and in advance or $15 at the door. Go to artsmerced.org for more information.
Womens Club luncheon

VFW auxiliary breakfast
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Atwater Veterans of Foreign Wars will have its monthly breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. on Sunday at the VFW Hall, 1390 Broadway. Cost is $4 to $6. The meal is omelets, hash browns, waffles with strawberries and cream, or biscuits and gravy, eggs cooked to order, bacon or sausage, coffee and juice. Proceeds go to veterans programs.
Workshop on leadership
Merced College is offering a two-day workshop, Challenges of Leadership, from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and May 8 at the College Business Resource Center, 630 W. 19th St. Cost is $23. Workshop earns one-half unit of college credit. Call (209) 386-6733 for more information.
CASA of Merced will hold its annual FUNraiser at 6 p.m. May 10 at the Merced County Fairgrounds Pavilion, 900 Martin Luther King Jr. Way. There will be dinner, music, live and silent auctions.
